The Blount County Historic Trust sponsors a range of awards designed to honor preservation efforts and increase awareness of historic preservation in the local community. All nominees are acknowledged and award recipients announced at the BCHT annual meeting. Nominations are requested from the community at large and must be submitted by no later than March 1st.

BCHT Champion Award

Awarded to an individual who has contributed substantially over a period of years to historic preservation in Blount County.

The Heritage Design Award

Awarded to an individual or organization for new construction or exterior rehabilitation that incorporates architectural features of historic character and contributes to traditional streetscapes.

The Oak Shingle Award

Awarded to an individual for outstanding preservation or restoration of a residential, commercial or public building of historic architectural significance.

The Vanguard Award

Awarded to a business, government entity or other organization that has provided support and advocacy for local historic preservation.
